Day 25. 25th January Bible Commentary And Summary With Dr. Toyin Taken From The Book Of Job.
MAKE A CASE
JOB CHAPTERS 22-25.
CHAPTER 22:1-30
Eliphaz condemns blamelessness! (v.1-3).
He challenged Job and lays fake accusations on him. (v.4-10)
v.5. “Your wickedness is great and thine iniquities infinite.”
v.10. Therefore snares are round about thee and sudden fear troubleth thee; He mocks on: v.19-20.
v.21-27
Eliphaz’s advice is good though offered spitefully.
We should all do this:
v.21-23. [Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way, prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth, meditate on his word. Return to the Almighty and be restored remove wickedness far from your house/home/office/workplace/your living].
PROPHETIC:
You want to study this; { 22:28-30}.
It is interesting that Eliphaz in his bad mood made prophetic utterances. Shows we are ALWAYS BETTER WITH GODLY FRIENDS NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE.
· "What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways" v.28
CHAPTER 23:1-17
Job’s languish;
I DON’T KNOW WHERE GOD IS, I CANNOT FIND HIM {v.2-6}.
MAKE A CASE;
Job seems to have two Judges or at least a Judge (God Almighty) and an accuser (Satan). Job was so so sure if he could see God and make a case before him he would be vindicated & delivered forever (v.4-7)
HE TESTS ME: I can’t find him, I do not see him, I wish I catch a glimpse of him BUT HE KNOWS ME. When he has tested me, I come forth as gold. (see v.8-10)
I have kept his ways ~ his commands without detouring (v.11-12).
HE STANDS ALONE, who can oppose him?
Crisisphobia:- (v.14) He carries out his decree against me and many such plans he still has in store. That is why I am terrified (..v.15).
Chapter 24:1-25
INJUSTICES:
Find Job lamenting his observations in this chapter (please read through all the verses 1-25), see a few extracts below:
v.1. Why Does the Almighty not set time for judgment?
It is Complex in modern times as God has placed governments and systems; he expects justice from them. And that is why we submit to the authorities, sadly they disappoint us with lapses and corruption in all arms of the government and all the government agencies, in every nook and cranny of the society - our world.
v.17b. They make friends with the terrace of darkness.
Chapter 25:1-6
Bildad’s answer was brief. An indication of his friends becoming weary. v.2.
Dominion and awe belong to God.....
v.3. "IS THERE ANY NUMBER OF HIS ARMIES❓ON WHOM DOES HIS LIGHT NOT RISE❓". Of a truth He is kind; the sun shines on all creatures and the rain is equally enjoyed by the wicked and the righteous.
v.4. How then can a mortal be righteous before God❓ How can one born of a woman be pure?
Prayer and reflection:
Read Proverbs 20:19; ‘A gossip betrays confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.’
JOB's friends seem to have been talking behind him (Job 5:27, January 20th) and that is partly why they could not be empathetic and quickly slipped into fault-finding, accusations, and in fact cursing at different points in time.
Pray for those who are in a 'dark' place right now, if you have slandered or falsely accused somebody ask for forgiveness. If you have a weakness with your tongue it is a good time to pray and examine how you could improve this area of life.
NIGHT:
ACTION: Write down 4 tips for developing positive listening skills; apply that to your lifestyle. It should help you avoid negative listening and speech too.
Proverbs 20:19; “A gossip betrays confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.”
