LAW OF TITHING.
Today's study starts with the day session progressing in chronological order; then at night, I adapt a holistic approach as the words of Jesus seek to tune our hearts to what our priorities should be "weightier matters", ... judgment, mercy,.. though he would have us continuing the act of tithing. I hope that this resolves the questions of 'to tithe or not to tithe' for you. The answers are here! Let's do this together every day.

LEVITICUS CHAPTER 27
God is concerned about WHO BRINGS WHAT!
It is important to become more mindful in your giving to God.
GIVING CARELESSLY❓
The LORD provided further regulations on SPECIAL VOWS, and the DEDICATION OF PERSONS, PROPERTY { HOUSE / LAND } and ANIMALS unto the LORD and some guidelines on how to redeem them;
- Redeeming Human Being(s) :- v.1-8
- Redeeming Animals:- v.9-12
- Redeeming Houses:- v.14-15
- Redeeming Family Land:- v.16-21
- Others:- v.22-25
Firstborns of animals may not be dedicated, as firstborns already belong to the LORD (v.26-27).
Our relationship with God, endear us to give. It is a good thing to want to give and actually give. It's an act of LOVE, and a committed heart is often prompted to give.
TITHING:-
The LORD asks for a TITHE of everything. v.30-33.
NUMBERS CHAPTER 1.
After the Tabernacle was completed, the LORD COMMANDED:
THE FIRST CENSUS TO BE TAKEN AT MOUNT SINAI.
The LORD spoke to Moses in the second year, on the first day of the second month ( that is 1st of February, 1279BC P.g 212 Chronological Bible ) to take a census of the congregation of Israel by their families. And count men able to serve in the Army who are 20 years and or older (v.1-4).
Clearly, the LORD was preparing the Israelites for the battles ahead of them. Life for the Israelites had been a series of battles and disruptions and would continue to be. As we learn from this we must plan to look ahead, be prepared for life’s crook journey, hoping that with God on our side we will win.
v.5-13. The Lord appointed leaders of each ancestral tribe to assist MOSES AND AARON in the task. *of the tribe of Reuben — ELIZUR *of the tribe of Simeon — SHELUMIEL *of the tribe of Judah — NAHSHON *of the tribe of Issachar — NETHANEL *of the tribe of Zebulun — ELIAB
*of the Sons of Joseph
- of the tribe of Ephraim — ELISHAMA
- of the tribe of Manasseh — GAMALIEL
*of the tribe of Benjamin — ABIDAN
*of the tribe of Dan — AHIEZER *of the tribe of Asher — PAGIEL *of the tribe of Gad — ELIASAPH *of the tribe of Naphtali — AHIRA
v.45-46. The Total number counted of men 20 years and above, able to serve in the army was 603,550 (v.46).
v.47-54. The Levites were exempt from this because they have been chosen and approved by the LORD, and are in-charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant Law and all its furnishings and its vessels. No one else may approach the Tabernacle or they will be put to death.
The Levites are to care for the Tabernacle ( take it down when it is to move and pitch it — set the Tabernacle up when it is required v.51.), the Levites are to encamp around it - that is pitch their Tent around it. This proximity will enhance their due diligence.
And the words of the LORD were honoured which he commanded the Israelites through the mouth of Moses @ Mount Sinai.
How much of life is commanded by the LORD, amongst us today?

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not leave the other undone. Ye blind, which strain at a gnat, and swallows a camel.” Matthew 2323-24
You will agree with me that Jesus wasn't pleased with their prioritising!
