Day 203. 22nd July Commentary With Dr Toyin Ojo Taken From The Book Of 2 Kings, Isaiah And 2 Chronicles.

I HEARD — YOUR PRAYER.

Did you say a prayer? God surely heard your prayers.  Like king Hezekiah we could always say a prayer even after a prophecy by some of the world’s best prophets.

God hears a prophet, a people and individuals — ALL.

2 Kings 201-11, Isaiah 381-8, 2 Chronicles 32:24-31

A PRAYER HEARD

The king Hezekiah became ill and would die.  In fact the prophet visited him to let him know the LORD wants to take him and he should get ready.

·      This is one of the reasons why I would be perplexed, if things are happening and taking the body of Christ unawares. Let the body of Christ in the 21st Century become true; knowing Truth  is fundamental asap the gospel of Christ. May the LORD help us as a religion - for a lifestyle.

BUT, HEZEKIAH PRAYED ( first instinct ) and God heard him, spoke to the prophet; who went back to him and told him God has heard his prayer and added fifteen (15) years to his age - he would not die. And God will save the people for his servant David’s sake.

Hezekiah then asked for a sign and he was given — The shadow shall go 10 degrees backward and so it was.

I see a proper relationship between Hezekiah, GOD, and the prophet. There isn't over dependence on the prophet for help; in Hezekiah's life God had his place and appropriately so! The prophet also had his place. But what do we have in the body of Christ today? In place of the prophet; yours could be a pastor, prophet/seer - what is the relationship?

Hezekiah’s Documented Praise — (Isaiah 38:9-22).

v.10,18-20.  "In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years?…. For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: those that go down the grave cannot hope for thy truth.  The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.  The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my song with the ten (10) stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.”

2 Kings 20:12-19, Isaiah 39:1-8

HEZEKIAH’S MISTAKE:—

He received guest from Babylon and showed them round his palace—all his treasures.

The prophet Isaiah told him the spiritual implication — ALL that is in his treasury will be taken off to Babylon and some of his sons ( his flesh and blood that is his biological children ) will be taken captive to serve the king of Babylon in his royal palace.

Hezekiah accepted the prophecy lacking faith; and been too weary to pray:

‘“The word of the LORD you have spoken is good”,

Hezekiah replied. For he thought;

“There will be peace and security in my lifetime”’ v.8

NIGHT: Reflect On Hezekiah’s Prayer;

“I beseech thee, Oh LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.”

We often don’t find many believers in King Hezekiah’s shoes, many come with the blood of Jesus Christ;

"but shall we continue in sin that grace may abide?" Romans 6:1.

You and I know that; that isn’t the essence of the blood of Christ! And lifestyle Christianity is what will bring revival - endearing more people to Christ in wholehearted devotion.

Walking in truth — Leading our Nations, Societies, Families & Our Individual lives in truth is the spiritual healing needed for the modern-day believer.
