Day 208. 27th July Commentary With Dr Toyin Ojo Taken From The Book Of Isaiah Chapter 58 — 63
HEPHZIBAH.
Sin and wickedness spared and became common in Israel. Unlike when an individual sins, and everyone got punished until the individual is identified and exposed to the people. How popular is injustice/discrimination/greed/embezzlement in your nation today? How aware are you of your participation?! Yet the LORD seek to rename his own Hephzibah ( my delight is in her ).
CHAPTER 581-14
IT HAS BECOME A NATIONAL THING!
The pretentious service, and ill motive of the spiritual act of fasting had become a national thing in Israel.
Like it is in the body of Christ - all the strategic forms of wickedness in the worldly/circular/government systems is truly represented and has become well adopted by the body of Christ from Greed - Embezzlement - Competition and Football like acts enhanced by diabolism, internet and the growth of the body of Christ as a whole.
THE SINNERS, WITCHES AND WIZARDS in the church fast more than the saints but only to deal a fist in selfish championship quest.
The LORD GOD condemns this kind of fast and soberness. He wants injustice and manipulations to stop.
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?” (v.6).
Individuals should delight in the essence of God’s strategic ways that the LORD and his host ( in heaven and on earth-the Church even the world ) recognise Restorers and Repairers.
Read v.12.
“Then you will find your joy in the LORD,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (v.14).
ISAIAH 591-21
Keep Away Sins — And Experience the saving hand of the LORD!
Fellow believers this is our call if we must “see” the face of the LORD.
· Integrity is key — Speak the truth, let not evil well up from inside of you.
Because as each individual is contributing sin; as an act it gradually becomes a people’s sin, rebellion, oppression, evil, so much so he/she who refuses to sin is harboured.
“Truth is nowhere to be found,
and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey” (v.15).
Yet God will not let go because the earth and all it consists are his footstool; he made it for his pleasure. He will therefore avenge, that his covenant may abide.
“According to what they have done,
so will he repay
wrath to his enemies
and retribution to his foes; …
The Redeemer will come to Zion,
to those in Jacob who repent of their sins, declares the LORD.” (v.18&20).
CHAPTER 601-22
ARISE AND SHINE❗️
This chapter is the full eagerness of God to come to us, being upon us and his glory expressed through us and his loving favour doing us and our children good to such extent nations will serve and bless us or be punished.
{Read v.1-5,10}
“Foreigners will rebuild your walls,
and their kings will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
in favour I will show you compassion ...
Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Saviour,
your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
No longer will violence be heard in your land,
nor ruin or destruction within your borders,
but you will call your walls Salvation
and your gates Praise.” {v.10,16&18}.
CHAPTER 611-11.
IT’S TIME OF FAVOUR FOR THE POOR, OPPRESSED AND PRISONERS:
Looking on them they will be called Oaks Of Righteousness because of God’s righteous dealing with them, their children and children’s children.
God proclaims his desire (justice) and covenant (Read v.8).
“and provide for those who grieve in Zion —
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of mourning,
and garment of praise instead of mourning,
and the garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called the oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
Instead of shame
you will receive a double portion,
and instead disgrace
you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit it double portion in your land,
and everlasting joy will be yours”. v.3&7.
CHAPTER 621-12
HEPHZIBAH
Sought For And Vindicated; this will be the believers experience and salvation from the LORD.
The LORD will make his own a splendor to behold and will give her a new name.
“ No longer will they call you Deserted,
or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah,
and your land Beulah;
for the LORD will take delight in you,
and your land will be married”. (v.4).
In this prophecy, it is interesting that the SHE is used to represent God’s people; she that was abandoned will be married (Beulah). God’s people will work and enjoy the reward of all their doings.
“They will be called the Holy People,
the Redeemed of the LORD;
and you will be called Sought After,
the City No Longer Deserted”. v.12.
CHAPTER 631-14
OPEN CHALLENGE
God condemns Edom; the prophecy gives vivid description of how the heavens sees sins and evil done. It doesn’t matter when ( how long ago or how recent ) as long as there isn’t repentance, it is like a garment and sometimes as stains on garment on an individual.
Therefore God’s vengeance was wrath against God’s enemies and redemption for God’s own and God’s people rejoice.
The deeds of old — ancient wonders recounted (Read v.11-14).
Note the change of language — during the ancient times — Abraham, Moses the presence of the LORD is often referred to as “The Spirit of the LORD”, “The Angel of the LORD”, “The LORD God”, but here some of those are referred to as the “Holy Spirit”.
