This Book features my letter to the UN Secretary General, His Excellency ANTONIO GUTERRES. REQUESTING REVIEW OF THE DIVORCE PROCEDURES IN COURTS. You will agree with me that the procedure is hectic and too expensive for the many, increasing the trauma that comes with it. Remarkably, the social media enhance globalisation speeding up what flits, the transfer of norms, and believes. Africans copy what they are being exposed to without ideal support; Legal Reforms and Social System. Following the western societies that has withdrawn from religion to humanism; where social mechanism and law is flexible and supportive. Men are more ‘liberal’ in their style as they become polygamous regardless of the law or their marriage vows. Women are more subject to law; but protest in various ways, some ethically, others unethically. The society is witnessing increase in spouse mortality rate due to abuse; while religion and law remain rigid. Divorced, divorcing, separated people are marginalised, in Africa; especially in the Church, such persons are classified as second class citizens. Women who have children for their exes are sometimes forced to revert to their maiden names even when such women may prefer to stick to their exes names, perhaps, to lessen the psychological impact on their children. It is important to legalise this as an open choice which does not require any formalization. Marriage as a whole has become more scary, for the many, and less desirable. Why should humans get into trouble simply because they choose to marry an individual. Often, too many of the choices are wrong. The world has globalised, is globalising and shaping meaning. It should become easy to divorce partners even when both are resident in different countries. A form should be easily obtainable online.
